Title: Fire and Invasive Plant Ecology and Management: The Need for Integration to Effectively Restore Ecosystems ESA/SER Symposium

Project Proposal Abstract: This is a proposal soliciting support for a symposium on the inter-relationships between fire and invasive plants. This symposium is scheduled for 1:00-4:30 PM, 6 August 2002, in Tucson, Arizona, as a special session of the joint meeting of the Ecological Society of America (ESA) and the Society for Ecological Restoration (SER). We are specifically requesting $5,000 for participant support, which will allow us to include some of the leading fire and invasive species researchers in this symposium and in the publication that we will produce following the meeting.
