Title: The Fifth International Fire Ecology and Management Congress: Uniting Research, Education and Management
Project Proposal Abstract: In coordination with JFSP, the Association for Fire Ecology Congresses have been held every third year since 2000. They attract a wide variety of international contributors and attendees and is the largest and most important fire ecology and fire science conference held anywhere in the world. Previous congresses have each included scientists and land managers from every region of the United States and over 20 other countries. These congresses are broad in scope and facilitate interdisciplinary cooperation in land management and research on a local, regional, national and international level. There is also a strong emphasis on the future with inclusion of university students as organizers, presenters, volunteers and attendees.
